I edited this photo to make a simple object appear more interesting. I did this by decreasing the saturation to make it black and white, then increasing the contrast to make highlights and reflections stand out more than they actually do. The angle of the photo is also positioned in a way which allows you to see the full object clearly.

The first image on the left is of my laptop viewing Google Classroom. All of my teachers have switched to using websites, especially those like Google Classroom, to post assignments and keep us updated on information we still need to learn for the class that got disrupted by the pandemic and school closing. Almost everyday I need to check these websites for new assignments to complete and upload photos or documents of as proof that I am continuing to do the schoolwork despite being physically out of school. This is an efficient way of continuing to learn despite staying at home. AP classes in particular are necessary to keep learning as although there were adjustments to the class as the way grades work changed, we still are required to do as College Board says and prepare for AP exams that will be this month.
The second photo shows plants from my mom's garden. My mom cannot go to work either as a result of the virus, so has dedicated more time to her hobbies including gardening. Due to this, I occasionally have had to help her manage it in between doing schoolwork and other activities. The final photo is of our cars, which represents the fact that we have rarely left home since the pandemic and closings first began in April. The car most well seen in the image has not left our house as there has not been a reason to leave other than for shopping as the majority of non-food stores and other places are closed due to being considered not essential and to minimize the spread of the virus. |

For this project, I originally found a lock and decided that I could try to turn it into multiple other things as it is a simple object with a distinct shape. I realized immediately that it looks similar in shape to either a stringed instrument such as a banjo, or it could look like a suitcase, depending on how it is turned. I choose to make it into a suitcase as that way I could make a more interesting background of an airport in which you would bring a suitcase to. As the color scheme of the lock is silver, black and white, I made the rest of the artwork in black and white rather than color.
